Android Chat example, with server sending individual message to specify client.


Refer to my old post of Simple Android Chat Application, server side, and client side. Function to send sending individual message to specify client is added in server side.


uses-permission of "android.permission.INTERNET" is needed in AndroidManifest.xml, for both server and client.

  2. To get mac address, refer Retrieve IP and MAC addresses from /proc/net/arp.

    For this example, get mac address for what?

  4. Nice and helpfull example. I have some questions...may be foolish:
    1. If the server is far away from the client whuch means he does not know the servers ip , how can i get the servers ip?
    2. A mobile can be a server or it has to be tablet?
    3. How can i store messages on server?
