Microsoft's Customer Guidance for WannaCrypt attacks and security update, including Windows XP, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2003

In these two day, many Windows users affected by the malicious “WannaCrypt” software. Microsoft posted "Customer Guidance for WannaCrypt attacks", the steps to stay protected. Additionally, Microsoft are taking the highly unusual step of providing a security update for all customers to protect Windows platforms that are in custom support only, including Windows XP, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2003. Windows 10 were not targeted by the attack up to now.

Microsoft's standalone Android Emulator

Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 now has options for Android development: C++, Cordova, and C# with Xamarin. When choosing one of those Android development options, Visual Studio will also install the brand new Visual Studio Emulator for Android to use as a target for debugging your app. You can also download the emulator without needing to install Visual Studio.

Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android Preview

Introducing Microsoft Hyperlapse, available for download at http://aka.ms/hyperlapse. Microsoft Hyperlapse lets you creates smooth and stabilized time lapses, distilling your experiences into beautiful, shareable videos. Show off footage from your hike, or let your friends experience how it felt to fly down the mountain on skis. Hyperlapse is available as an app for Android or Windows Phone, as well as a pro version in preview for enthusiasts or professionals who want to hyperlapse video from a GoPro or other camera.



Joining the Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android community, you will get access to pre-release versions of the Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android application. You can give feedback, submit issues, receive the most current information on the apps and interact with product team members.

Currently this app works on the following devices, running Android 4.4 or later:
- Samsung Galaxy S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note 4

Official Microsoft Outlook app available on Android and iOS now

Microsoft announced new Outlook for iOS and a preview version of new Outlook for Android.

Now, with Outlook, users can manage work and personal email on phone and tablet – as efficiently as on computer. It offers customizable swipes and actions to manage email. Beyond email, the new Outlook app offers integrated calendaring that makes scheduling a meeting or sharing schedule a single tap away.

The new Outlook apps work great with Office 365, Exchange, Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and other major email services. Find out more about the Outlook for iOS and Android apps here.
